12/01/16 at 19:17There is a somewhat rote feeling to a few of the plot points and structural problems being ticked off by Whedon (a pretty predictable late shifting of allegiances, an inclination to attempt to reach action sequences at pre-allotted intervals), and with such a surfeit of characters to commit screen time to, the middle section of the film occasionally feels frayed, offering a number of vignettes.
