11/17/16 at 12:26The brand new entry to the Star Wars universe is profoundly derivative, basically an updated retelling of A New Hope, and while dismissing the backstory about the First Order mainly mutes the events of Return of the Jedi, the new characters are interesting enough that J.J. Abrams has successfully made me excited about the new episodes, rather than cringing, as I did after The Phantom Menace.
